Amplifying Physical Distancing and Self-Isolation awareness in the terminal

With significantly less people travelling right now, it still remains critical for passengers to follow public health advice in the airport and when they leave the premises.

On April 7, WAA continued to increase the amount of physical distancing and self-isolation signage in main areas of the terminal to ensure all travellers stay well-informed and can easily spot critical information.

For physical distancing, the guidelines are to stay six feet or two metres apart- or in other words, one polar bear away - from other members of the public or those not travelling with your group or family. There are also awareness decals on the floor, six feet apart, as a friendly reminder for travellers to keep their distance if they encounter a line up, such as at airline check-in counters or going through security. A couple examples of physical distancing are also dispersed in the seating areas near the gates, marking six feet as equal to sitting three chairs away from another person.

Lastly, additional self-isolation signage continues to be implemented on many pillars and stand up signs throughout the terminal to help travellers know their responsibilities after they travel. All travellers entering Manitoba are strongly advised to self-isolate for 14 days after their trip and all international travellers are required to self-isolate for the same period in compliance with the Quarantine Act.

Winnipeg Richardson International Airport continues to support essential travel at this time, with other preventative measures in place throughout the building to protect travellers, staff and the community.
