Passengers can now enjoy flights before flying with the newly opened Little Brown Jug taproom space at YWG. It occupies the former Skylights Lounge just past security.
"We’re always looking for ways to enhance the airport experience, so we’re excited to welcome Winnipeg’s own craft brewery, Little Brown Jug," said Scott Marohn, Vice-President, Commercial, for Winnipeg Airports Authority. "Passengers often tell us they appreciate more local flavour, so we know they’ll love the chance to enjoy a craft beer flight or pick up some LBJ merch before boarding."
Little Brown Jug first opened in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District in 2016, transforming a hundred-year-old building into an open-concept mid-century modern haven for craft beer lovers. The brewery is best known for 1919, its signature Belgian pale ale named after the infamous strike that took place just a few blocks away.
"For the first time, Winnipeg travelers can now enjoy a flight before their flight, sampling LBJ’s most popular beers, 1919 Belgian Pale Ale, Generic! Lager, Hazy IPA, and Golden Ale, all available on draught. Additionally, a variety of LBJ’s smaller batch seasonal beers and ciders will be available in cans," shared Kristin Sheffield, Chief Operating Officer, for Little Brown Jug.
Those familiar with the brewery’s penchant for mod design will be pleased to see the vibrant teal colour palette and exposed brick make an appearance in the new space.
"Little Brown Jug is excited to bring a beloved part of Winnipeg’s Exchange District to the terminal, offering travellers a taste of the city’s most iconic craft beers," noted Sheffield.
Little Brown Jug is now open daily from 4:00 a.m. until 8 :00 p.m.
